The Biggest Mistake To Avoid When Removing A Pet Stain
Now what you are about to read may stun you, that's because if you are like me then you may have read or heard that you could use vinegar to get rid of pet stains.
I am here to tell you WAIT!!!
Be careful, because unless you like the smell then you are in some deep trouble.
Let me explain…
Okay when we first started formulating Stainerizer to simply get rid of pet stains odors I had a meeting with my head chemist. In fact, I spoke to my mom about what she use to use to get rid of pet stains, so I could at least have some headway.
So much for headway, this was in 2005….
Geez 3 years later (This formulation of Stainerizer took a really long time)
Well, be the great mom she was she told me about vinegar. I wondered, vinegar… that stuff is used in food and salad dressing. I never would of thought to use it for pet stains and odors.
So to make a long story short, I used the vinegar and poof….
MY Lab STUNK!!!!
Vinegar really stunk up the place and after doing a bit of testing, it did not get rid of the urine stain as we were hoping for. So why all the hype on vinegar?
Well I understand most do like to formulate there own natural cleaners, heck this is what we do in the lab every day just about. The problem I found was too much of any material can really throw the product off. So I came to find that sure a bit vinegar dilluted with water may help, but do stay away from a concentrate of vinegar to get rid of pet stains. You are in for serious salad dressing odors.
What Is Important To Notice Is What Cleans Stains In Carpeting…
Well after some testing in the lab, we found that vinegar could not really do it's job on some more darker staining. Such as blood and feces, these were just a bit to hard to get rid of. The fact is vinegar could not neutralize the urine, feces, or vomit from pets. (Yes, this was some serious testing!!!!)
What was needed was a raw material that can neutralize the stuff!
Now we never want any harsh chemicals, we wanted something natural, but had power in it!
Have You Ever Used Natural Citrus Peel Oil?
Citrus is so acidic it really can tear a whole through carpeting. We found this out the hard way!!!….
But it is natural and a great material to neutralize. This mixed in the right amounts with some natural enzymes really did well. Stainerizer was first comprised of these two main ingredients. These both are natural and derived from the earth, so no worries… They are completely organic and contain no acids or chemicals.
More to come… I actually have a story with a 50lb lab and vinegar… Ewww… what a mess!!!
Talk to you soon.
